He tells some great stories. He talks about his podcast that he's doing, which is incredible and we really had a fun time, so definitely check that one out this Thursday.

00:01:15:14 - 00:01:29:43

Wayne Mulder

On the interview room, I'm going to be sitting down with Bob Woolverton. So you're going to want to look for that one. I tell you, we've got a great line up all the way through the end of the year. Now. I've got shows recorded for the Thursday interview room and I think you're going to enjoy each and every one of them.

00:01:30:10 - 00:01:55:29

Wayne Mulder

Before we get into this week's morning roll call, let me give you one quick update to a story I talked about last week. You will recall that I spoke about podcast movement and their actions in Dallas, Texas, that were a little bit on the crazy side. We're saying Ben Shapiro's mere presence caused harm. However, and this is why I wanted to bring it up, they issued an apology on Thursday, this coming from Blaze Media.

00:01:56:00 - 00:02:17:57

Wayne Mulder

They said that podcast movement issued an apology on Thursday. And that apology was and I'm quoting, as we stated, we're continuing to evaluate our policies, guiding social media in events with inclusivity, diversity and respect for all. We have to start by sincerely apologizing to Mr. SHAPIRO for our reaction. When he visited a booth, we sold his company. That wasn't right.

00:02:18:05 - 00:02:40:29

Wayne Mulder

That was tweeted by podcast movement, the co-founder and co-CEO, Jeremy Boring of Daily Wire. He came out with a tweet as well as said, people rarely admit when they do wrong, particularly on the left, where every cultural indicator reinforces your error. Our podcast movement did the right thing with this apology, and I couldn't agree more, and I thought that was good.

00:02:40:29 - 00:03:00:08

Wayne Mulder

And I thought it was important that I started out on a positive note and stated that, yes, I am very thankful that they came forward and issued an apology because it was definitely needed and definitely a step in the right direction. And as Jeremy Boring in pointed out, it's an important thing that sadly is missing in a lot of society.

00:03:01:27 - 00:03:30:13

Wayne Mulder

There was Cumulus Media announced earlier prior to the apology that they were going to be separating ties, they said, at Cumulus Media. Our tenant our tenant is that every voice matters. And we support conferences and trade events where differing political viewpoints can be expressed and received with respect. As such, we were dismayed, disappointed, and they go on and they said that they were intending to cancel their 2023 sponsorship plan.

00:03:30:14 - 00:03:53:28

Wayne Mulder

So did that play a part into in podcast movements apology? Well, that would be cynical. So we're going to hope not. We're going to hope that they were simply doing the right thing. And I thank them for that. So I wanted to start there. But that is not what we're talking about. This week. This week it's positive stories, uplifting things that are going to help you in your everyday life.

00:03:53:35 - 00:03:57:20

Wayne Mulder

The morning roll call starts now.

00:04:01:07 - 00:04:27:00

Wayne Mulder

All right. So for three stories you might have missed, let me start with this. One really isn't a story as much as it's something I want to just start with, because yesterday, of course, was September 11th. So there was an article that recently came out in the police, one by Lieutenant Jeff Keck. He's a 23 year veteran with Fort Worth PD, and he had developed the Fort Worth Intelligence Exchange Fusion Center.

00:04:27:49 - 00:04:42:56

Wayne Mulder

In the name of the article is why all law enforcement officers should read the 911 Commission report. And that's really essentially what this is all about. But he makes a few points that I want to just bring to your attention. But the more important thing is he makes a valid point. I do think it is something that should be read.

00:04:43:30 - 00:05:06:47

Wayne Mulder

He also talks about the fact that many of the people serving in law enforcement now, because it's been more than two decades since the devastating attack, this means police academies across the country are filled with new recruits who weren't even born when the attacks occurred, and that many of the front line supervisors, commanders, administrators may have only been six or seven years old when it occurred.

00:05:06:48 - 00:05:36:07

Wayne Mulder

So he goes on, I will have this linked up. And it links to the actual report, which of course is lengthy, typical government reading, but it sheds light on the successes and failures of the U.S. intel, intelligence communities, local first responders and state and federal partners. While the report covers many topics and I'm quoting here in areas of improvement, one devastatingly important factor that our current law enforcement officers should consider is the need to share intelligence and information.

00:05:36:07 - 00:05:59:54

Wayne Mulder

And we all know that that was one of the lessons that came out there, at least I assume we all know, because it's something that I've heard over and over myself. And that really was the crux of what he talks about when they talk about the failures. It was things like Not Watch listing future hijackers or trailing them as they traveled, not informing the FBI about the future hijackers.

00:05:59:54 - 00:06:25:29

Wayne Mulder

U.S. visa not sharing information linking individuals to the USS Cole attack, not taking adequate steps in time to find the future terrorist in the United States. Not linking the arrest of individuals who were described as being interested in flight training, not discovering false statements and so forth and so on. So I'm going to if you were in law enforcement or even not, and you want an interesting read and you haven't read it, I would suggest that you consider it and I will have it linked up.

00:06:25:29 - 00:06:56:12

Wayne Mulder

If you just go to the show notes for this episode. One thing, though, that he points out is in the days before 911, we didn't realize there was a problem. Right? So when we have this statement that, hey, everything's good, we've made these changes, we're now sharing information. We have these fusion centers, we have Haida, we have all these different ways that information is now being synthesized and it becomes intelligence.

00:06:56:29 - 00:07:14:48

Wayne Mulder

He refers to it kind of uses a puzzle piece metaphor where he talks about a bunch of little puzzle pieces being spread out among a bunch of different agencies. And how those puzzle pieces then are essentially the information that has to be pulled together and becomes intelligence as the tapestry comes together, however you want to look at it.

00:07:14:48 - 00:07:44:10

Wayne Mulder

The report kind of summarized that everyone involved was confused about the rules governing the sharing and use of information gathered in intelligence channels. And though there is a lot of great things that have happened and a lot of good things that have happened, there is a lot of work yet to be done. And that is another point he makes in this article based on his experience with the Fort Worth Fusion Center, three points that he makes is essentially intelligence, security and public safety.

00:07:44:10 - 00:08:09:19

Wayne Mulder

Agencies should assume the homeland is threatened daily. Second, each agency must be willing to proactively share information without having to wait for a request for the information. And there must be a centralized location, a repository where the puzzle pieces are collected and linked together. I think a lot of forward thinking agencies are certainly doing this, and I know of a lot of great agencies that are doing it across the nation.

00:08:09:58 - 00:08:31:12

Wayne Mulder

But then there are also areas where you still see the weakness and things we need to shore up and the things we need to get better at. And I like how he talks about, you know, we always talk about never forget. Well, here we are 20 plus years later. Have we forgotten or have we forgotten the things that we still need to concentrate and get better at?

00:08:31:47 - 00:08:50:12

Wayne Mulder

He concludes with To be in the business of protecting a community, one must be fully prepared. Winston Churchill once wrote, Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it, as we all know. So for the sake of the communities we serve, our fellow first responders and our great country read the report, consider the recommendations, and then make changes and never forget.

00:08:50:57 - 00:09:19:18

Wayne Mulder

So I wanted to on the anniversary to start there because I really do think that it highlights an important part of law enforcement, which is communication not only among ourselves within the agency, but among other agencies and among our state and federal partners. So in the second story this week, I wanted to talk about this Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer honored for saving four lives in less than a year.

00:09:19:41 - 00:09:42:56

Wayne Mulder

Jacob Schrader was honored last week for his heroics. This coming to us from the spokesman review. This is really kind of interesting. He saved four lives in essentially less than a year. I don't know if the lesson here is what an amazing guy Jacob is or that you don't want to be around him when he's on shift. I'm not sure which lesson it is.

00:09:42:56 - 00:10:06:23

Wayne Mulder

I'll leave that up to you to figure out. But in May of 2021, Schrader was the first on scene to an unconscious individual who wasn't breathing. He rolled him over, assisted with opening the airway the same day he goes to a crawl, an unconscious one year old who was turning blue. So he transports the infant to the hospital himself while doing CPR and driving.

00:10:07:05 - 00:10:26:49

Wayne Mulder

I'm not sure that I suggest that, but that don't know all the facts and circumstances. That's what he did. And according to this, saved the child's life. So that's awesome. All in one day, in May of 2021. So then in January of 2022, he goes to a call where a subject is yelling for help, but they can't get in there.

00:10:27:03 - 00:10:49:24

Wayne Mulder

They've got to hike in due to the snow levels. They can't get vehicles and stuff into where the subject is. He finds out the subject had a stroke, so he creates an improvised stretcher from some of the materials that he was able to find on the scene. And he carries the subject through the deep snow to a waiting EMS and then in April of 2022, he responds to a choking at a restaurant.

00:10:49:42 - 00:11:10:01

Wayne Mulder

He does the Heimlich maneuver, dislodged the food and saved yet another life. So there is definitely a pattern here with Mr. Jacob and a great job for what he is doing, which is saving lives, which is what we want when it comes to law enforcement. But what is so amazing to me is that this keeps happening in his circle.

00:11:10:01 - 00:11:33:43

Wayne Mulder

So maybe stay away from Jacob. All right. And I want to tell you another great story. The third story this week, Florida deputy. Florida deputy inspires inmates through personal story of perseverance. This is coming to us with Deputy Toya Adams. She works for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. This is a really neat video. Please, you're going to see it playing here.

00:11:33:43 - 00:11:52:33

Wayne Mulder

If you're watching on YouTube or Rumble, you'll see some bits and pieces from the interview. The entire interview is going to be available on our show notes, so definitely start there on the blue line icon. Go to the episode page and you can watch the entire video. But she is inspiring others with her story. She grew up in public housing.

00:11:52:55 - 00:12:13:10

Wayne Mulder

She was one of seven children raised by a single mother who the mother was in an abusive relationship. And then she goes on that growing up in an abusive household, being molested, I didn't think I'd ever make it. It was rough. I went onto the streets looking for love, that's all. I thought it was my way out. She dropped out of high school at 15.

00:12:13:11 - 00:12:38:43

Wayne Mulder

She also became a single mom and was dealing with abusive relationships. But then when she looked at her daughter, she was like, You know what? I'm going to stop this cycle of abuse. And that's exactly what she did. She started working at the sheriff's office in Hillsborough County, Florida, in the jail kitchen. They saw the positive in her actions, they being the other deputies that she was having with the inmates while she was doing her job there in the kitchen.

00:12:38:56 - 00:12:58:25

Wayne Mulder

And they were like, you need to go into law enforcement. You need to work as a detention deputy. And she says, quote, They gave me inspiration. And I started looking into and believing in myself that I am somebody. You have to lift people up because some people have never heard it before. Nobody tells them that they're worthy or they're loved or that you're good.

00:12:58:54 - 00:13:24:13

Wayne Mulder

You they've never heard of that before. I put on the suit on every day knowing that I am helping somebody and that is the mission. Right? So this is awesome. She goes on, We want to give them encouragement to keep them from coming back, referring to the inmates with That's one way you stop. The cyclical nature of recidivism is to give them a reason to make the changes we know they can make.

00:13:24:13 - 00:13:47:55

Wayne Mulder

So congratulations to her and what she is doing and definitely check out that entire interview by a local news channel on the on the Blue Line website on the show notes. So for the next segment, let's get into the one crazy thing from this week. You've probably seen this. It's a now viral video, but if you watch it here on the screen, it's absolutely crazy what's going on here.

00:13:48:29 - 00:14:20:15

Wayne Mulder

This is that story out of New York where armed robbers hoisted $9,000 in cash from a man in this just bizarre a car chase that goes through the city. The victim is stating that he his brothers are bodega owners and they buy vehicles and that's why they had this large amount of cash with them. So essentially what you're seeing on the screen right before this incident takes place, the incident began when the robbers driving a stolen black Mercedes bumped into the victim's car from behind.

00:14:20:15 - 00:14:37:05

Wayne Mulder

The victim was driving a Toyota RAV4 and he pulls over after they bump into him. And there and he's like, you get they get out to view the damage. Well, he's like, I'm about to get out the suspects get out because they want to view the damage. And obviously this guy's like, Yeah, there's something going on here. I'm not going to get out.

00:14:37:05 - 00:14:59:04

Wayne Mulder

Instead, I'm going to call 911. At that point, they pull a gun, the victim steps on the gas and he flees towards Second Avenue. The robbers in their vehicle decide to pursue him and they crash into him. Then if you watch the video, that's where you see him picking up. They're flying the both vehicles are flying north on Second Avenue.

00:14:59:04 - 00:15:15:06

Wayne Mulder

You see the RAV4 swing around and briefly mounts the sidewalk. And what's bizarre to me is this guy that's just randomly just the citizen that's just walking down the street. Do, do, do, do or on the sidewalk, you know, just not paying attention. Yeah, there's two cars speeding by. I guess that's life in New York. You just don't.

00:15:15:29 - 00:15:40:10

Wayne Mulder

It doesn't really affect you. You're like, oh, yeah, there's cars flying by, hitting each other. I don't know. It's bizarre to me. You know, the Indiana boy now in Florida, but maybe it's a New York thing. Who knows? So the RAV4 swings around briefly around sidewalk and then it comes to rest near a hydrant. The robber, one of the robbers you can see here on the video getting out of the Mercedes bangs on the Toyota's window and he hands over the cash.

00:15:40:41 - 00:16:02:35

Wayne Mulder

And in a bizarre all this happens in a major city and they flee. And as of right now, they're both at large. So they did find the car nearby. They did find some video that it appears they're hiding or they may have taken it. They hid in a garage and then possibly took an Uber and they dumped a gun in a trash basket.

00:16:02:49 - 00:16:17:09

Wayne Mulder

And other than that, they are still on the run unless something has changed since this news story came out. I do apologize. I have not looked at back up. But as we do if there is an update, I will certainly get that to you.

00:16:20:38 - 00:16:42:50

Wayne Mulder

All right. For the final segment of the On the Blue Line podcast, I want to leave you with the one important takeaway. And this week I want to leave you with some reflections on 911. The Indiana sky was clear. I sat in a white Ford F-250 four by four out in front of a long, skinny barn. The building had been an old veal barn that was converted into a workshop for a landscape company.

00:16:43:37 - 00:17:03:05

Wayne Mulder

You know, there were wood slats that used to serve as pens down both sides of the barn that had been removed and turned into snow steaks. A large roll up garage doors had been added to the sides in the concrete channels that had once been used to remove sludge had been filled in that morning in September. Began as any other morning.

00:17:03:32 - 00:17:25:28

Wayne Mulder

The same routines. The same drive to work. The same discussions about what projects needed to be completed. In a word, it was mundane. It was life. You know, life has a cycle to it, a rhythm that follows a natural, be sure, moments of excitement and fear, jubilation and disappointment and a whole host of other emotions are woven into the tapestry of our lives.

00:17:25:42 - 00:17:49:06

Wayne Mulder

As an American, I was and am blessed to live in the greatest country in the world, to live where my biggest concerns at the time were building a company, strengthening my friendships, being with my family and enjoying my toes. Life was simple and I was blessed. I had certain perspectives in life up to that point, and more specifically, a certain perspective of my American life.

00:17:50:18 - 00:18:12:50

Wayne Mulder

My friends who joined the military in high school in the late nineties, I was unable to due to a heart issue, were serving without ever thinking of the potential of a long, sustained war or combat. In fact, since the first Gulf War and that decisive victory I remember watching on TV as a kid, I thought of America as untouchable, a superpower whose strength came from God, as did her protection.

00:18:13:35 - 00:18:35:25

Wayne Mulder

I didn't see us as vulnerable as a naive 20 year old. I saw us as invincible. But all that changed on that September morning under blue skies, sitting in front of an old veal barn turned workshop. Sitting in my white Ford F-250. In that moment on September 11, 2001, evil interjected itself overtly into the world that I thought I knew.

00:18:36:14 - 00:18:55:51

Wayne Mulder

Sure, evil existed. I'd seen the effects of its presence from a distance at different times in my life. I heard stories of evil and that death was a theme and that this was the first time it had come on this scale in my lifetime, on the shores of my country. This moment in time and the attack on this country changed the world, as you very well know.

00:18:56:52 - 00:19:20:52

Wayne Mulder

In spite of some of the concerns that came from the response to these attacks for a short period of time in the days and weeks after this horrific event, it also felt like a unified country, in a word. It felt like America. As we remembered yesterday, the lives lost on September 11th, I couldn't help but once again think that evil has come and interjected itself into our country in so many ways.

00:19:21:22 - 00:19:44:17

Wayne Mulder

Its tentacles are seen in so many aspects of our American way of life. However, rather than despair, I felt a strange calm and I had a thought. Maybe the response to September 11th could very well be the cure in 2022. You know, evil cannot coexist with the divine. Evil cannot exist with light and cannot thrive in a world where men and women are willing to stand against it.

00:19:45:04 - 00:20:07:16

Wayne Mulder

Division cannot exist when we are united. And these facts seem more like cancers. And in some ways they're really simple. To defeat evil, we must walk in the light of truth and be willing to stand against it united in our cause. As I read in the first story, I went over a few of the lessons that we learn from 911 as a country, and they are as relevant today as they were then.

00:20:07:56 - 00:20:30:06

Wayne Mulder

One of those lessons was communication, and a byproduct of communication can be unity. Somehow, unity seems like one of the biggest needs we still have as a country. We must unite. For as we know, a house divided against itself cannot stand. But how do we do it? How do we learn to communicate while we unite as Americans? And we refuse to tolerate evil.

00:20:30:45 - 00:20:51:51

Wayne Mulder

America changed on September 11, 2021. Evil made its presence known. And today, we think about all of those over the last 21 years who have shown a willingness to stand up to evil and to serve this country and their neighbors. This week, I want to leave you with a message of hope and a charge for helping to build a better future.

00:20:52:18 - 00:21:01:27

Wayne Mulder

America can be recovered and saved so long as we continue to be willing to unite and to fight evil. Have a blessed week.

00:21:05:04 - 00:21:24:07

Wayne Mulder

All right. So lastly, I just want to go over a couple of reviews with you. Please be sure to leave us a rating and review on Apple podcast as well as on YouTube. And I will read those at an upcoming morning roll call. I'm also going back to make sure that everybody gets to have their review read, and I'm going back and reading some of the previous ones that were never read on the air.

00:21:24:25 - 00:21:45:56

Wayne Mulder

Five stars, please, and I hope you are enjoying this, but definitely that it makes a huge difference for helping us grow the show. So this one is coming to us from two years ago, from a great guy, actually, Alex Sanfilippo. He wrote down here that he was a guest, which he was. If you haven't listened to that episode, definitely go back and listen to it.

00:21:46:14 - 00:22:07:21

Wayne Mulder

And I tell you, Alex is just an all around great guy. He said in this review, this is a great podcast. If you're here, you already know that. But I had the opportunity to be a guest on the show and whenever that happened, you get to know the heart of your host. I can tell you that Wing really cares about the audience is doing everything he can to make each episode valuable for the listeners.

00:22:07:44 - 00:22:25:28

Wayne Mulder

A-plus. Two thumbs up. So thank you, Alex. Thank you to each and every one of you who are listening and leave us a reading and review. Please continue to do that again. For more information about what we're doing and what is coming, go to on the blue line dot com. And I think that will do it for this week's morning roll call.

00:22:25:37 - 00:22:39:55

Wayne Mulder

I will see you on Thursday in the interview room. But in the meantime, I'm going to see you out there on the blue line.
